Position Details:
• Full-time, permanent
• Seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife in Paris, TN
• Responsible for planning and directing the delivery of services for women Aos health and OB care.
• Works under general established supervision using protocols as required.
• Models appropriate behavior to employees as exemplified In the Quality Plus manner, which reflects a commitment to the Continuous Process Improvement Plan (CPI).
• Position reporting to the Department Director.
• Flexible work hours five days a week, subject to non-traditional hours, in an exempt status.
• Collaborates with the precepting physician in establishing/ reviewing protocols for managing acute and long-term medical needs of the patients.
• Performs a complete physical exam, obtain a complete, medical history, and records findings. Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Interprets and integrates data to determine the preliminary therapeutic plan.
• Provides medical services and health education to all patients under the supervision of the Nurse Practitioner's preceptor.
• Performs necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to approved protocols developed with and under the supervision of the Nurse Practitioner'spreceptor which may include the following; securing, recording and evaluating the health, psychosocial, and developmental history of patients, ordering laboratory and x-ray studies, carrying out prescription drug orders under protocols, management of common or chronic illnesses, referrals, etc. Documents the processes of nursing care delivered.
• Administers or gives orders to nursing support to administer medications and injections in compliance with state law and clinic guidelines.
• Functions as a patient advocate. Conducts follow-up care and coordinates care with other health care providers and makes appropriate referrals for continuity of care.
• Maintains accurate and complete medical records in a timely fashion.
• Demonstrates effective guest excellence with patients, families and guest.
• Provides educational counseling that will enhance patient care and preventative knowledge.
• Participates in the selection, supervision and evaluation of clinical personnel utilized in the clinic.
• Contributes to a positive work climate and the overall team effort of the department.
• Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.
