Mechanical/Manufacturing engineer

Job Responsibilities:
- Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices.
- Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects.
- Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment or software.

Position’s Contributions to Work Group: 
- Provides technical support for Assembly issues related to process and tooling or equipment
- Documents, Implements and improves standard work
- Balances workload across production bays to enable meeting production target
- Collaborates with Quality, Operations, Maintenance, Safety and Engineering on solutions

- This role provides hands on exposure to production for Compact Track Loaders, one of Client's highest volume products, with direct impact to delivering the best product possible to our customers. 

Typical task breakdown:
- Provide daily technical support of production including troubleshooting, root cause identification, corrective action implementation and documentation follow up of Assembly area -or- In Process Validation (IPV) areas with automated testing, fluid fill, and AC charging equipment
- Support enhancements and improvements to process, tooling and equipment

Interaction with team: 
- Collaborates closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to support production objectives, resolve technical issues, improve and document processes, optimize workload distribution across production bays, and implement tooling and equipment enhancements.

Team Structure
- Member of the Manufacturing Engineering team, working with other Engineers, Production Planners, and Robot Technicians
- Part of the larger Technical Services team and Operations organization, working closely with Facilities & Maintenance, Logistics, Quality and Safety to support manufacturing performance and equipment reliability

Work environment: 
- On site manufacturing environment with time split between workstation activities, validation documentation, equipment reviews, and hands on floor support.

Education & Experience Required: 
- Years of experience: 0-2 years 
- Degree requirement: Bachelor's degree in engineering required.

- Mechanical engineering fundamentals with ability to read drawings, technical documentation, and equipment specifications.
- Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes 
- Strong analytical, problem solving, written communication, and cross functional collaboration skills.

Additional Technical Skills 
(Desired) 
- Experience in root cause investigation, issue resolution, data analysis, documentation and cross functional team collaboration
- Ability to support assembly and manufacturing processes, including torque tool applications, lifting processes, time studies, line balancing, capacity analysis, and standard work development. 
- Experience with Creo, AutoCAD, and Geneo
- Ability to analyze manufacturing processes, identify improvement opportunities, and implement sustainable process and equipment solutions to support safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives -or- working knowledge of automated test systems, fluid handling and fill equipment, refrigerant and A/C charging processes, production equipment controls and interfaces, and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). 

Soft Skills

- Detail oriented, proactive, organized, safety minded, and comfortable working with production teams in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

- Red flags include limited interest in hands on floor support, inability to work on site, weak equipment troubleshooting experience, or lack of comfort documenting validation results and corrective actions.
