Travel Registered Nurse PCU Job

Overview
Registered Nurse - PCU travel assignment in Olathe, Kansas. Start date 08/16/2026 for a 13-week contract in a short-term acute care setting. Weekly pay range: $2,057-$2,085 per week. Responsibilities
- Deliver direct bedside nursing care for PCU patients, including ongoing assessment, monitoring, and care planning.
- Manage cardiac and respiratory interventions (BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines); perform labs and routine procedures within scope.
- Administer medications, assist with invasive procedures, and participate in emergency responses and codes as needed.
- Communicate and collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the care team; ensure accurate documentation in the EMR (EPIC).
- Assist with open-heart postoperative care (Day 2/Day 3 as applicable) and maintain safe patient ratios (3:1 to 4:1 tops) while floating to ICU and other units.

Requirements
- Active KS RN license or Compact RN license
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHF certifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Critical Care/ICU or Emergency Department experience
- Experience with BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and drawing labs
- Open-heart Day 2 or Day 3 experience with pacer wires
- Ability to float to ICU and all inpatient units; able to work 3x12 night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced environment
