Shift Lead/Server

The Shift Lead /Server is responsible for overseeing restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring excellent guest service, team productivity, food quality, cleanliness, and compliance with company policies. This role serves as the Manager on Duty when senior leadership is not present and supports team members in maintaining high service and operational standards. This position is eligible for tips. Education & Experience: High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a restaurant or a related field preferred. Prior restaurant, hospitality, or shift leadership experience preferred Strong guest service and communication skills Cash handling and register balancing experience Ability to supervise and motivate employees in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds Bend, stoop, reach, and climb as needed Work in hot, fast-paced kitchen and dining room conditions Essential: Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner. Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Expotel Hospitality Service standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the restaurant Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working. Comply at all times with Expotel Hospitality Service standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient restaurant operations. Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times. Employees must, at all times, be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees. Leadership & Team Supervision Lead front-of-house and/or back-of-house team members during assigned shifts Delegate daily tasks and ensure timely completion Provide coaching, direction, and support to team members Assist with onboarding and training of new hires Monitor employee performance and address concerns in real time Promote teamwork, accountability, and professionalism Communicate shift notes, incidents, and updates to management Guest Service Excellence Deliver and model exceptional guest service standards Respond to guest concerns, complaints, and service recovery needs Support staff during high-volume periods Ensure service speed, accuracy, and hospitality standards are maintained #J-18808-Ljbffr Expotel Hospitality
