Supervisor, Histology - Monday-Friday, 12pm-8:30pm

Position Overview At Exact Sciences, the Supervisor, Histology (Monday-Friday, 12pm‑8:30pm) manages daily operations in a high‑volume histology laboratory to meet throughput and quality targets, following laboratory best practices and company policies. The supervisor serves as the primary liaison with Pathology, ensuring specimens are prepared and delivered on time and with adequate quality for review and testing. The role requires strong leadership, sound judgment, analytical and decision‑making skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple functional groups, including Accessioning, Customer Service, Analytical Laboratory, Process & Service Engineering, IT, Human Resources, and Materials Management. Essential Duties Resolve technical problems and enforce policies and procedures established by the laboratory director or technical supervisor. Monitor test performance and ensure remedial actions are taken when results deviate from established specifications. Orient new testing personnel and maintain stringent quality standards, communicating issues immediately to appropriate management. Oversee day‑to‑day operations, ensuring samples are processed timely and delivered to Pathology and Analytical Laboratory with sufficient quality. Assist in planning, validation, and implementation of new test procedures and supervise histology laboratory personnel. Collaborate with quality control and assurance teams on troubleshooting, improvement, and training programs. Coordinate with Clinical Laboratory QA, IT, Process Engineering, Customer Service, and other teams to address process and workflow issues. Assist the management team in managing laboratory and cross‑functional projects, including process improvement, quality improvement, development studies, and new assay launch. Write and review standard operating procedures (SOPs), NCDR and DAR reports, and other assigned documents. Conduct staff performance assessments, facilitate development discussions, and partner with Human Resources to manage performance gaps. Lead training and competency assessment of histology staff under management guidance. Support resource management and improvement initiatives, maintain open communication across all levels, and provide coaching and morale support. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies and company policies and participate in quality assurance activities. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field. At least 6years of laboratory experience. Detailed knowledge of CAP, CLIA, and NY regulations. Professional working knowledge of regulatory inspection preparation and execution. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, laboratory information management software (LIMS), and automated instrumentation. Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship. Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties with or without accommodation. Preferred Qualifications Experience in high‑volume clinical or surgical pathology laboratory. Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS). Experience with project management. HT(ASCP) or HLT(ASCP) certification. Active QIHC (Qualification in Immunohistochemistry) through the ASCP Board of Certification. Benefits and Compensation Salary Range: $108,000‑$156,000 (full‑time, US–CA–Redwood City). Bonus eligible.
