Residential Treatment Center Admission Nurse- Registered Nurse

New Mexico Rehabilitation Center (NMRC) is a Joint Commission accredited specialty hospital providing rehabilitation services to citizens of the State of New Mexico. Salary $32.15 - $48.23 hourly $66,880 - $100,320 annually Pay Band C9 Responsibilities The Admission Nurse coordinates and oversees the admission process for new residents. Duties include: Conducting comprehensive nursing assessments upon admission Reviewing hospital records, physician notes, and transfer documentation for accuracy Ensuring that all consents, medical records, and required forms are obtained and completed per facility and regulatory standards Maintaining compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations during admissions Coordinating with Social Services, Business Office, Dietary, Therapy, and other departments Providing direct patient care by implementing accepted nursing practices and institutional policies Performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing Patients and Families Patients in need of rehabilitation for chemical dependency or medical rehabilitation and their families. Ideal Candidate Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing Strong assessment and care planning skills Knowledge of CMS, state, and federal regulations for nursing home admissions Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Highly organized and able to manage multiple admissions concurrently Compassionate, resident‑centered approach with families and residents Effective team collaborator with interdisciplinary departments Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and schedules Knowledge of clinical and nursing standards for ages 18 to 90 plus Commitment to continuous learning and integration of new information and management skills Minimum Qualifications Must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico, or eligibility for such licensure, or eligibility for a temporary license issued for employment at a specific institution in New Mexico, and at least two (2) years of experience relevant to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification. Employment Requirements Maintaining a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico or eligibility for such licensure Physician-verified pre‑employment criminal background check (subject to results) Valid driver’s license Completion of a defensive driving course Working Conditions Work is of medium to heavy demand. Walking and standing may be required for most of the time on duty. Moderate lifting of patients with assistance is essential. Frequent reaching, handling, and fingering of instruments and equipment is required. Visual and auditory acuity are essential to perform designated duties. Hours may be variable to meet institutional demands. Exposure to unpleasant sights, odors, hazardous and infectious agents, and emotional stress may occur. The position includes work in hospital and office settings, with extensive use of computer and phone.
