Industrial Insulator--- Sutherland, NEApply insulating materials to pipes or ductwork, or other mechanical systems in order to help control and maintain temperature.Essential duties and responsibilities include:Apply, remove, and repair insulation on industrial equipment, pipes, ductwork, or other mechanical systems such as heat exchangers, tanks, and vessels, to help control noise and maintain temperatures.Cover, seal, or finish insulated surfaces or access holes with plastic covers, canvas strips, sealants, tape, cement or asphalt mastic.Determine the amounts and types of insulation needed, and methods of installation, based on factors such as location, surface shape, and equipment use.Fit insulation around obstructions, and shape insulating materials and protective coverings as required.Install sheet metal around insulated pipes with screws in order to protect the insulation from weather conditions or physical damage.Measure and cut insulation for covering surfaces, using tape measures, handsaws, knives and scissors.Prepare surfaces for insulation application by brushing or spreading on adhesives, cement, or asphalt, or by attaching metal pins to surfaces.Read blueprints and specifications to determine job requirements.Select appropriate insulation such as fiberglass, Styrofoam, or cork, based on the heat retaining or excluding characteristics of the material.Distribute insulating materials evenly into small spaces within floors, ceilings, or walls, using blowers and hose attachments.Fill blower hoppers with insulating materials.Qualifications include:Minimum three (3) years' experience Industrial Insulating experience.Four (4) years' experience in power plant or maintenance experience preferred.OSHA Requirements: All craft are required to have OSHA 10 prior to arriving on site.Per Diem: $178/paid 7 days (except 1st and last week of work – paid days worked). Permanent address must be greater than 50 miles using shortest distance calculation. No PD will be paid on days missed.Per Diem must be verified and we must retain records for audit. Need 2 items (1 from each list below) and must be dated within 60-90 days of start date.Per Diem Documentation Requirements:List AUtility bill for water, gas, electricity, cable or land line at least 30 days old but no more than 3 monthsMajor credit card bill at least 30-days old but no more than 3 months (I suggest we black out account number if someone provides that)Mortgage receipt for permanent address within the past 3 monthsRent receipt for permanent address within the past 3 monthsList BCity, county or other property tax statements within the past 12 monthsDMV vehicle registrationState or federal tax return (if prepared by someone else, need proof of payment to tax preparer). I suggest we ask for first and last page only – everything needs to be blacked out if they provide itVoter registration cardTravel In & Out: $400 in and out for those with permanent address greater than 200 miles. Must get ROF/RIF for travel outCompletion Bonus (outage only): $3.00/ST and 4.50/OT to base rate.
