Welder III (Pipe Welder)The Welder III is a fulltime role that will operate out of one of the L&L Fabrication Welding facilities. This role will be expected to actively work to scheduled shop needs. This welder will be leaned on for the more complex joints requiring NDT and have an expectation of passing at a 100% rate. This candidate would be competent in welding but also be willing to exercise the ability to do other tasks, such fitting their own parts, training team members, and work on the further development of processes for the betterment of the team. This expectation and outlined roles/duties may be adjusted to align with organizational need at any time.Rate of Pay – $30.00-40.00/hrL&L Fabrication is an ASME Code vessel shop holding U and R stamps. We offer ASME-coded work built to spec, along with repairs and maintenance on used pressure-rated equipment. A high emphasis on safety, quality, and on time delivery.Expected Roles/Responsibilities:Weld non-code and code articles to satisfactory qualityGMAW, FCAW, SMAW, all per WPSMust receive 6G Certification prior to hire date/pass OTJ Welder IIWeld to expectation and regularly meet challenges such as 100% NDT JointsProcess materials with accuracy and efficiencyOxy-fuel, plasma, saw, mag-drill, and grinderUse all shop and personal tooling safely and appropriatelyDrive a forklift safely and appropriatelyParticipate in team setting that will develop and build welding and fabrication ability for oneself and colleaguesLead the process of introducing new procedures into the facility (PQRs/WPSs)Provide a SAFE team member that is accountable, respectful, and empowered to introduce new opportunities for getting the job donePlans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the jobRepairs and fabricates various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipmentMonitors the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkagePrepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be weldedMaintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work areaNotifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discoveredPerforms other related duties as assignedRequirements:Code welding experience (ASME Sec. 8/9, B31.3, AWS D1.1, AWS D17.1)Mechanical aptitudeOperational understanding or appreciation for a manufacturing environmentOwnership – attitude that shares wins and owns lossesDesire to add to the workplace culture, SAFE and CORESmart, alert, focused, energizedCollaborative, ownership, respectful, empoweringWillingness to learn and teach new processes or methodsBasic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, models, and blueprintsExcellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of formsBasic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignmentsWeld Test Requirements:3G weld test – ¾" plate test vertical up (GMAW root / GMAW-pulse or FCAW hot and cap)6G weld test – 2 XXH pipe test (SMAW root / GMAW-pulse or FCAW hot and cap)Physical Requirements:Must be able to weld components that are vertical, flat, or overheadMust have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision workMust be able to see details at close rangeMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at any time, 50 pounds regularly, 100 infrequentlyMust be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materialsL&L Fabrication Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
