Director Of Rehabilitation ServicesThe Director of Rehabilitation Services directs the three rehab departments of physical, occupational, and speech therapy to ensure the highest quality of rehab services in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.Education, Experience, and Licensure RequirementsActive license in physical (BSPT, MSPT, DPT, or PTA), occupational (BSOT, MSOT, COTA), or speech (MA, MS, CCC SLP, or CFY SLP) therapy and meet the educational requirements as defined in the job description for that license typeCurrently registered/licensed with applicable State. Must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment.Two (2) years' supervisory experience in post acute care or related settingCPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.Specific Job RequirementsLiaisons with patients, families, support departments, etc. to adequately plan for patient needsFunctional knowledge of payer reimbursementFunctional knowledge of labor management and strategiesFunctional knowledge of supply budgetsProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and emailExercise good body mechanics at all timesMake independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actionKnowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facilityImplement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the departmentPerform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitationMaintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential informationUnderstand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance proceduresDisplays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance trainingEssential FunctionsRecruit, select, hire, evaluate, train, counsel, and supervise Rehab department staffOversee and evaluate care given by therapy studentsDirect the growth, development, and maintenance of rehab programsFunction as staff therapist as caseload requiresMaintain appropriate staffing patterns as clinically indicatedUtilize therapy software appropriately and accuratelyEffectively manage department budgetExhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patientsAssist in the evacuation of patientsDemonstrate dependable, regular attendanceConcentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgmentCommunicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary teamSit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hoursRead, write, speak, and understand the English languageAn Equal Opportunity Employer
