Our clients range from End Users to General Contractors in the upstream, midstream, and downstream market sectors of the energy industry. BlueFin is based in Lafayette, LA.

Job Summary Serve as Field Engineer I working in the Service Department for land/offshore. Responsible for execution of tasks as assigned by the Lead Service Technician, Service Supervisor, Project Manager, upper-level engineers, or other Management. Is operationally qualified, verified, and authorized as required for specific tasks. All work shall be performed in a safe, professional, and productive manner. Works under close supervision with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform field services within capacity as directed and in accordance with specific project work plan, procedures, and/or standard operating procedures
• Report to Lead Service Technicians, Service Supervisors when working in the field
• Report to Project Manager and District Manager when not working in the field
• Assist in creating project documentation such as Project Work Plans (PWP), drawings, calculations, etc.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Service, maintain, repair, and test equipment/tools pre/post jobs
• Write or participate in writing Job Safety and Environmental Analysis (JSEA) for job task assigned
• Load/unload equipment
• Learn all field services work and equipment in order to gain skills/knowledge
• Competency or working towards competency in Scopes of Work
• Increase knowledge and training on product lines and services
• Participation and Compliance with BlueFin HSE and Quality Management System
• Follow current work-hours policy for both shop and field
• Comply with all company policies (Safety, quality, general, SOP's, etc)
• Available 24-hour call (except for scheduled PTO)
• Able to perform demanding physical labor in hot/cold environments and offshore
• Participate in training
• Monitor environment for unsafe conditions
• Assist in creating training documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Four-year accredited engineering degree No experience required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Minimal knowledge of equipment and capabilities of that equipment and processes in which it is used for. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to discuss with the client the work you are performing. Basic knowledge or ability to learn computer equipment and software.

Registration, Certification or License Valid driver's license required Hold proper safety and training certificates for work performed. If not, then ability to obtain.
