Assistant Dean of Assessment and Accreditation

Larkin University College of Pharmacy (LUCOP) invites applications for the position of Assistant Dean of Assessment and Accreditation. This leadership role is responsible for assessment and accreditation activities across all areas in the college, including programmatic accreditation, annual reporting, and strategic planning. The Assistant Dean collaborates with faculty, staff, and administrators to design and execute assessment strategies that measure learning outcomes, program effectiveness, and stakeholder satisfaction. The role ensures alignment with the College’s assessment activities with university institutional effectiveness and SACS-COC standards, programmatic accreditation standards, and the promotion of continuous quality improvement. The position reports to the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, serves on the College Executive Council, and holds a faculty appointment. LUCOP’s accelerated Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and is a three‑year curriculum. Larkin University is a private not‑for‑profit 501(c)(3) university with the College of Pharmacy, College of Biomedical Sciences, School of Physician Assistant Studies, and School of Dental Medicine. More information about LUCOP is available at Key Responsibilities Oversee a comprehensive assessment plan for the College of Pharmacy, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards (e.g., ACPE, university, state, or regional accrediting bodies). Provide leadership in the collection, analysis, and reporting of data to support strategic planning, program improvement, student services, and decision‑making. Serve as a resource on assessment and quality enhancement practices. Collaborate with faculty and staff to design and implement assessment tools that evaluate student learning outcomes and curricular effectiveness. Oversee the development, distribution, and analysis of surveys, exams, rubrics, and other assessment instruments. Maintain a database of assessment results and ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility for stakeholders. Work with the Dean and Executive Council members of the College, prepare and manage documentation for accreditation self‑studies, site visits, and reports. Analyze assessment data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement in curriculum and program delivery and compliance with ACPE standards. Facilitate discussions and planning sessions with faculty, staff, and administrators to promote a culture of evidence‑based decision‑making. Represent the College of Pharmacy on institutional committees related to assessment and accreditation. Stay current on trends and advancements in pharmacy and higher education assessment and accreditation. Contribute to teaching and academic activities in the areas of expertise. Job Requirements The successful candidate must hold a doctoral degree (PhD, PharmD, EdD, or equivalent). Experience in assessment, institutional effectiveness, or related areas, preferably in a pharmacy or health sciences educational setting. Knowledge of national or programmatic accreditation standards and reporting procedures. Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with survey software (Qualtrics), statistical tools (SPSS, SAS, or R), and visualization platforms (Tableau or Power BI) is desirable.
