Email Operations SpecialistThe AWS Email team is looking for a detail-oriented Email Operations Specialist. This role owns the resource management workflows across intake workflows, routing logic, reusable templates, QA gates, SLAs, and operational dashboards that govern how every request flows from submission through send. This person designs and maintains the standardized, repeatable processes that allow quality and speed to scale with volume. They will partner cross-functionally across marketing, engineering, analytics, and global operations teams to drive continuous improvement across the full email production lifecycle. The ideal candidate has a track record of building and optimizing operational systems. They think in frameworks, default to automation over manual effort, and have experience in resource and capacity management across distributed digital teams. This is a high-visibility and high-impact workstream that works across AWS Marketing. Key job responsibilities include owning the email production system end-to-end — designing and maintaining the intake-to-deploy workflow (Workfront request forms, task templates, routing logic, and auto-assignment rules) so every request follows a standardized, repeatable path from submission through send. They will also optimize and own the request intake and prioritization model — establishing the triage and routing framework and prioritization criteria that keep the queue moving; owning the rules, not the ticket. Additionally, they will optimize and own channel SLAs and operational reporting — defining service-level standards (e.g., intake acknowledgment, build turnaround, on-time send rate) and owning the dashboards that track cycle time, throughput, defect/rework rate, and SLA adherence across all AWS email programs. They will create and maintain reusable production assets — building and versioning the email templates, task templates, checklists, and process documentation the build team runs on, so quality and speed scale with volume instead of depending on individuals. They will drive continuous process optimization across the build-test-deploy lifecycle — identifying bottlenecks, standardizing workflows, and implementing measurable efficiency improvements; partnering with global operations teams to ensure continuity of coverage and consistent process adherence across time zones, including scaling the system for large programs. They will also drive onboarding and operational training across the organization.Basic Qualifications include experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables), experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional email and push marketing campaigns (including automated flows) from concept to completion, 2+ years in email/marketing operations or digital channel operations, with demonstrated ownership of the production system, resource management experience across intake, workflow, and automation — building request forms, task templates, routing/auto-assignment logic, approval workflows, and dashboards; hands-on experience with Workfront Fusion (or a comparable automation/integration platform) to build and maintain automated scenarios that route requests, create tasks/subtasks, and keep stakeholders updated, and experience managing high-volume request queues with competing priorities and tight deadlines through systems and prioritization frameworks.Preferred Qualifications include experience using data visualization tools, experience building launch readiness frameworks, standard work, playbooks, and scalable deployment mechanisms across multiple concurrent sites, experience in agile management methodologies, 2+ years in email operations or digital channel operations with progressive system-ownership responsibility, and familiarity with email rendering and testing tools (e.g., Litmus, Email on Acid) sufficient to set QA gate criteria for the build team.Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
