Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist for an acute care hospital setting, requiring Epic EMR experience and Level 1 Trauma background.

Details

• Acute care hospital therapy unit
• Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM day shift
• 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts
• One weekend shift required per month
• No holiday shifts required
• No floating required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Illinois OT license required (temp license accepted if applicable)
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant occupational therapy experience
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Evaluates and treats patients of all ages, developing individualized plans of care that integrate goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge planning
• Performs patient examinations and screenings using reliable and valid methods relevant to the chief complaint and patient history
• Implements intervention plans utilizing functional activities that address the functional and emotional needs of the patient and family
• Utilizes standardized outcomes measures to accurately reflect patient functional performance
• Provides supervision to COTAs and rehabilitation technicians in accordance with regulatory guidelines
• Collaborates with the medical team to communicate patient status, activity and transfer recommendations, and discharge disposition needs
• Educates patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare providers using relevant teaching methods
• Candidates who have been on assignment at this health system for 1 continuous year must take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the system
• RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
• Candidates must be interviewed by facility leadership as part of the selection process
