Director of Finance and Accounting

JOB SUMMARYThe Director of Finance and Accounting will oversee and be actively involved in the preparation of internal and external financial reporting, including filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, ensuring compliance with SEC requirements and associated regulations and reporting standards. Responsible for direction and oversight of the functions related to the finance and accounting department. Assists the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with financial modeling, asset/liability management, liquidity, investments, the rate setting process, bank’s annual budget and other assignments.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Provides leadership, direction, and management of Bank’s Accounting department, including internal and external financial and accounting operations, reporting, regulatory and audit compliance.Development and maintaining of programs, policies, and procedures for liquidity, budgeting, investments, interest rate risk, derivatives, fixed assets, payables, etc. to ensure appropriate internal controls and to maximize efficiency.Serves as member of the Bank’s Management ALCO Committee and Board ALCO Committee.Prepares documentation, report packages, and presents to Management and Board CommitteesManages assumptions and facilitates modeling for interest rate risk, and liquidity stress testingModels impact of rate changes to net incomeMakes recommendations to Management ALCO Committee regarding balance sheet structure, new product offerings, and pricing.Management of assumptions, calculations for loan/capital stress testing, and the CECL model for allowance for credit losses, and related policiesLead the preparation and review of 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and other SEC filings, ensuring compliance with SEC regulations and reporting standardsPrepare and analyze supporting schedules, disclosures, MD&A, footnotes, and other external reporting componentsOversight of internal report production and maintenance for Board and Departmental reporting.Remain current on SEC, PCAOB and other regulatory updates; assess changes and communicate impacts to Bank leadershipResearch, interpret, and document complex accounting issues, including new or evolving GAAP standardsLead the implementation of new accounting pronouncementsProvide technical accounting guidance to internal business partners and senior leadershipResponsible for the implementation and monitoring of internal controls over financial reporting in compliance with SOX and/or FDICIA requirements, as applicablePartner with internal and external audit partners, prepare audit support packages, and respond to audit inquiriesLiaison with Bank auditors and examinersEnsures timely and accurate information relayedEnsures appropriate implementation of internal controlsMake recommendations to leadership regarding additions or amendments to bank policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirementsCollaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Operations, and Risk Management teams to ensure data accuracy and reporting consistencyCultivate a high-performance, continuous-improvement mindset within the team and cross-functionallyResponsible for compliance within area of responsibilityFunction and perform other duties as assigned to best serve the companyBachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceActive CPA license5+ years of banking experience or relative experience preferredStrong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and financial institution regulations, with SEC/Edgar reporting experience preferred8 – 10 years of accounting/financial reporting experience required; including a demonstrated understanding of GAAPStrong communication, analytical, and organizational skillsPerform with a high level of accuracy under tight time constraintsUnderstand complex accounting literature and apply to the business/specific transactionsAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting software packages #J-18808-Ljbffr
