Location: Onsite | Austin, TX Our client is looking for a Senior Cost Estimator with deep aviation and civil construction experience to join their Cost Estimating team onsite at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Austin, TX. Compensation: $110,000–$145,000, based on experience Cigna Medical & Dental, iMed Vision, FSA (health + dependent care) 401k with Profit Sharing Plan Paid Vacation, Sick, and Holiday time off, plus Parental Leave Employee Assistance Plan, Tuition Reimbursement, Employee Discounts, and an Employee Referral Bonus Program Wellness incentives, Life, Disability, Critical Illness, Accident, and Hospital insurance A Day in the Life of a Senior Cost Estimator As the Lead Cost Estimator, you'll develop and review detailed cost estimates across a wide range of aviation and civil construction projects, from early conceptual phases through final design, change orders, and claims. Your work directly supports project owners, designers, and construction teams in making informed decisions that keep complex airport programs on budget and on track. You'll also collaborate with scheduling professionals to ensure estimates and schedules are fully aligned, and actively participate in project meetings, value engineering sessions, and risk analysis studies. Responsibilities include: Developing detailed cost estimates for highway, bridge, tunnel, airport, building construction, and renovation projects Reviewing and providing technical commentary on cost estimates prepared by others Writing technical reports related to estimating findings and project cost analysis Coordinating and integrating cost estimates with CPM construction schedules Interfacing with project owners, designers, engineers, suppliers, and contractors Participating in project meetings, negotiations, risk analysis studies, and value engineering exercises Requirements and Qualifications: 4-5+ years of cost estimating experience Prior estimator experience with heavy electrical systems, traction power, signals, DC power, substations, or overhead catenary Prior experience working in the field on electrical construction projects Experienced in reading construction plans and specifications, and in developing crew compositions, equipment needs, and production rates Proficiency in SAGE Estimating or a similar estimating software system Experience estimating projects in the transit or rail sector About the Hiring Company: Our client is a WBE/DBE Certified Construction Management Consulting and Inspection firm that has been serving the construction industry since 1991.
