Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume, Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department serving patients ranging from newborns to the elderly across a wide spectrum of acuity
• Manage and titrate a variety of critical drips including vasopressors, cardiac drips, and antihypertensive medications
• Recognize and respond to life-threatening cardiac rhythms using Philips monitoring equipment; interpret and act on rhythm changes independently
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including ED physicians, mid-level providers, charge nurses, ED techs, respiratory therapists, and a 24/7 house supervisor
• Draw and collect lab specimens as required; support care of boarded patients
• Adhere to facility drug-free campus policy and maintain compliance with all department protocols, including weekend and holiday rotation requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and ENPC or PALS, and TNCC or TNS
• Proficiency in vasopressor and critical drip titration
• Ability to recognize and respond to life-threatening cardiac rhythms
• Must produce a negative drug screen prior to assignment start
• Candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of emergency nursing experience
• At least one prior travel nursing assignment
• SANE RN experience
• Experience working in a teaching hospital with resident physicians
