Job Details Description CLOSING DATE: FRIDAY AUGUST 14, 2026 @ 4:00 PM (MST) Hourly Range: $26.13/hour - $32.14/hour Essential Duties, Functions And Responsibilities Provides traditional healing/counseling services through traditional/cultural ritual treatment procedures in order to contribute to the holistic care encompassing mental, emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing. Plans, manages and carries out FDIHB traditional counseling/healing services in accordance with FDIHB outpatient and inpatient departmental goals in order to meet defined objectives. Provides traditional counseling/healing services to patients and their families through bedside intervention, traditional Hogan interventions, mobile unit and sweat lodge as appropriate. Works with patients and the attending providers/clinicians to promote care coordination by providing interpretation services when necessary and assisting staff in understanding the Navajo cultural perspectives of health care and illness. Provides traditional counseling and healing process about the health maintenance, health promotion, and prevention of illnesses. Documents all patient care and services provided in the electronic medical record per FDIHB and departmental policies. Schedule and provide appropriate aftercare follow-up during the course of hospitalization or when patient is discharged from FDIHB. May perform ceremonies or blessings for FDIHB departments, including before and after mock codes, new facility dedications, annual clinical unit blessing and other activities as needed. Manages the therapeutic sweat services and maintains the traditional Hogan and sweat lodge facilities. May participate on the Traditional Dine Hataali Association (DHA), Native American Church (NAC), and other FDIHB committees. Participates in departmental QAPI activities. Performs other duties as assigned. Mandatory Minimum Qualifications Experience: One (1) year of direct work experience. Education High School Diploma or Equivalency (HSE) Certification Certified within the Diné Hataalii Association (DHA) or within the Azee' Bee Nahagha of Diné Nation (ABNDN).

FDIHB and its facilities are located within the Navajo Nation and, in accordance with Navajo Nation law, has implemented a Navajo/Indian Preference in Employment Policy. Pursuant to this Policy, applicants who meet the minimum qualifications for this position and who are enrolled members of the Navajo Nation will be given primary preference in hiring and employment for this position and members of other federally-recognized Indian tribes will be given secondary preference.
