Plasma Center Nurse - LPN

The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) reports to the Plasma Center Manager and is responsible for supporting plasma center operations, ensuring donor eligibility, and maintaining quality standards. The specialist will work under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. About the Role The role involves determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. The specialist must be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment, and will follow guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in SOPs and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility. Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees, as applicable. Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, referencing EHS guidance. Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements. Current licensing or certification in the state of assignment: LPN or LVN. Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy. Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting. Compensation and Benefits Hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44, adjusted based on qualifications, experience, skills, and location. Eligible for short‑term incentives.
