Phlebotomist

Phlebotomist Tech I/CourierCorrectly performs patient identification, venipuncture/capillary collection technique, and specimen labeling. Performs specimen processing functions accurately and efficiently. Correctly performs special phlebotomy procedures. Laboratory Competency and Education Requirements. Compliance with Laboratory Safety Policies & Procedures. Demonstrates adequate knowledge of the hospital and laboratory computer systems. Ability to read at a high school level. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to effectively implement written and oral instructions. Ability to appropriately encounter individuals (patients, visitors, coworkers, medical staff and others) in a variety of situations and circumstances. Current Drivers License with no major citations, able to be covered under AMC auto insurance. Encouraged to become certified by ASCP or a similar qualifying agency (qualification determined by the Administrative Director) after one year of experience at JDAMH.Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent.
