Travel Nurse RN - Psychiatric - $2,200 per week

Slate Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN Psychiatric for a travel nursing job in Norfolk, Nebraska. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Psychiatric Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/29/2026 Duration: 10 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Unit: BHU- Behavioral Health Unit - Beds: 18 - Nurse:Patient Ratios: Intensive Unit (IPU) 10 beds: 2 RN with 1 tech. Patients admit to the IPU, nurses station is enclosed. Patient rooms have cameras in them. Progressive (PPU) 8 beds: 1 RN with 1 tech. Open nurses station, no cameras in rooms. - Required certifications: BLS, CPI. - Patient Populations/Common diagnoses: 19 years and older, substance use and mental health dx Detox, Schizophrenia, Suicidal or homicidal, Bipolar, borderline, Anxiety, Depression, Eating Disorders, geri-psych Medical detox is initiated on medical floors. Transfer from the medical floor to the BHU is dependent on patient history but there is no technical BAC cut off for de-toxers. - Job Duties: Rounding, Med Pass, Assessments, Crisis Intervention, DM management, some wound care, breathing treatments/inhalers, Discharges. There is a wound care RN who will consult. Charge nurse will do admissions. - Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must Have: 1 year of psych experience. Must be comfortable with restraints (4 point and chair). Open to first time travelers.
