Warehouse Operations Contractor

Major Entertainment Company Onsite: Las Vegas, Nevada We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Warehouse Operations Contractor for a critical 6-month assignment. This role is responsible for the successful setup, organization, and initial operations of our new offsite warehouse facility.

Position Overview: This role reports to the Building Manager. Focused on spearheading the physical setup, layout execution, and operational launch of our new offsite warehouse facility, this position transforms an empty footprint into a fully functional storage, staging, and logistics hub supporting the new Company Warehouse in Las Vegas. The selected contractor will be serving in a supervisory capacity. The contractor will drive space organization, establish day-to-day operational procedures, and author essential contingency and emergency management plans to ensure seamless cross-departmental transfers, rapid inventory turnover, and total facility readiness ahead of opening.

Responsibilities:

• Layout Strategy & Execution: Design and execute a warehouse layout using 5S methodology to optimize storage zones, streamline material flow, ensure clear egress, and drive operational excellence.
• Facility Setup: Take possession of the newly leased warehouse and oversee the initial move-in process, including the installation of floorplan-specific shelving and heavy equipment.
• Vendor & Service Management: Partner with the Building Manager to source, establish, and onboard essential third-party facility services, including waste management, recycling, and pest control. Supervise specialized trade contractors to execute necessary utility additions (power, data, lighting, surveillance) required for operational equipment, machinery, and configured workspaces.
• Workspace Organization: Oversee the physical assembly and functional setup of administrative and support areas—including the Quality Control Station, shipping and receiving, retail product processing, warehouse offices, and breakroom. Ensure all Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E) are fully installed, powered, and operational to support daily staffing needs.
• Logistics & Transfers: Establish end-to-end transport workflows to manage daily inventory requisitions for the retail store, including inbound freight scheduling, dock loading, and the setup of a reliable trucking and delivery schedule between the offsite warehouse and the Companies venue floor.
• Departmental Storage Optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional partners (F&B, Retail, Events, and Operations) to design and execute high-efficiency storage plans that strictly enforce policy guardrails. Build flexible, scalable zoning layouts capable of absorbing high-volume seasonal product turnover, supporting rapid staging for immersive retail drops, and streamlining logistics for live events deployment operations.
• Equipment Management: Oversee the sourcing and maintenance plan of leased and purchased equipment, including box trucks and forklifts.
• Safety & Security: Implement warehouse security protocols (surveillance, alarming, code/key maintenance, and badging). Ensure the facility and crew adhere to safety standards and maintain appropriate PPE, including safety footwear.
• Systems: Partner with cross functional teams to configure, test, and establish operational infrastructure, including general IT network and hardware systems, security technology and access control systems, and geofenced time clock solutions, ensuring a turnkey handoff for venue operations.
• Cross-Functional Support: Prepare the space to receive large-scale attraction elements and collaborate with Retail Leadership to help set up receiving spaces and assist in warehouse training for the retail team.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5+ years of experience leading warehouse setups, greenfield facility openings, or high-velocity logistics operations within retail, live events, or entertainment setup environments.
• Proven experience developing comprehensive operational plans, SOPs, emergency management plans, and contingency workflows for facility launches or high-volume warehouse operations.
• Demonstrated proficiency in warehouse spatial planning, traffic flow design, and practical application of 5S methodologies.
• Direct experience managing box truck operations, freight dock scheduling, local route planning, and clean driving history (Valid Driver's License required)
• Hands-on proficiency with digital Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), digital time-tracking platforms, barcode/RFID tracking setups, or digital inventory migration during a facility launch.
• Active OSHA 10 certification and Forklift Operator Certification preferred, or a willingness to complete certification.
• Strict adherence to non-disclosure protocols with zero tolerance for security lapses regarding unreleased intellectual property, confidential product lines, or proprietary scenic assets.
• Full availability for dynamic, non-standard working hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends to meet tight facility opening deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs unassisted.
• Must be capable of standing, walking, bending, reaching, and climbing ladders for extended periods.
• Must be comfortable working in a warehouse environment that may include exposure to temperature fluctuations, dust, and noise.

Nice to Haves or Preferred Skills:

• Strong cross-departmental communication and leadership skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with Retail and F&B teams.
• Ability to adapt to shifting timelines and effectively manage space allocation for diverse technical, scenic, and retail elements.
• Familiarity with the Las Vegas market, local freight corridors, commercial delivery regulations, and off-site to on-site venue transport loops.
• Experience authoring facility safety plans, emergency action plans (EAP), or business continuity/contingency plans for warehouse environments.
• Demonstrated experience using 5S workplace organization and Lean Six Sigma methodologies to plan, structure, and optimize warehouse layouts.
