Job Description:-

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Application Solution Architect to lead large-scale application modernization, cloud transformation, and database modernization initiatives.


The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Java-based enterprise architectures, Microsoft Azure, and legacy-to-modern data platform transformation.


This role will drive target-state architecture, modernization strategies, migration roadmaps, technical governance, and stakeholder engagement for mission-critical enterprise applications.

The individual will act as a trusted advisor to business and technology leadership, enabling organizations to accelerate digital transformation while ensuring scalability, security, resilience, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Application Modernization & Architecture

• Lead assessment and modernization of legacy applications, monolithic systems, and distributed platforms.

• Define modernization strategies including Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, Rearchitect, and Rebuild approaches.

• Design scalable, resilient, cloud-native architectures leveraging microservices, APIs, event-driven patterns, and domain-driven design.

• Create target-state architecture, reference architectures, architecture runway, and modernization roadmaps.

• Conduct architecture reviews, technical due diligence, and technology rationalization exercises.

Java Technology Leadership

• Architect enterprise-scale solutions using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Hibernate, REST APIs, and modern integration frameworks.

• Drive adoption of cloud-native application frameworks and containerized deployments.

• Establish engineering standards, coding practices, and development governance.

• Guide teams on application performance tuning, scalability, security, and observability.

Azure Cloud Transformation

• Design end-to-end Azure solutions utilizing:

o Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)

o Azure App Services

o Azure Functions

o Azure API Management

o Azure Service Bus / Event Hub

o Azure Key Vault

o Azure Storage Services

o Azure Monitor / Application Insights

• Define migration architectures from on-premise environments to Azure.

• Ensure solution alignment with Azure Well-Architected Framework.

• Design High Availability, Disaster Recovery, and Business Continuity solutions.

Database Modernization

• Lead modernization of legacy databases to cloud-native and managed database platforms.

• Design solutions involving:

o Azure SQL Database

o Azure SQL Managed Instance

o PostgreSQL

o Cosmos DB

o Oracle migrations

• Establish database migration strategies, data reconciliation processes, and performance optimization frameworks.

• Drive modernization of schema designs, ETL processes, data integration, and operational reporting platforms.

DevSecOps & Engineering Excellence

• Define CI/CD strategies using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.

• Enable Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Bicep.

• Ensure security, compliance, governance, and FinOps practices are embedded into solution designs.

• Drive automation, observability, and operational excellence standards.

Stakeholder & Leadership Management

• Partner with business executives, product owners, delivery teams, and enterprise architects.

• Translate business requirements into technical solution architectures.

• Present architecture options, trade-offs, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership.

• Mentor architects, technical leads, and development teams.

Required Skills & Experience

Core Technical Skills

• 15+ years of overall IT experience.

• 8+ years in Solution Architecture roles.

• 10+ years of hands-on Java Application development and architecture experience.

• Expertise in:

o Java/J2EE

o Spring Boot

o Spring Cloud

o RESTful APIs

o Microservices Architecture

o Event-Driven Architecture

o Domain Driven Design (DDD)

o Containerization using Docker and Kubernetes

Azure Expertise

• Strong hands-on experience in:

o Azure Architecture

o Azure Security & IAM

o Azure Integration Services

o Azure Monitoring & Logging

o Azure Storage and Compute Services

Database Expertise

• Strong experience with:

o SQL Server

o Azure SQL

o PostgreSQL

• Experience executing large-scale database migration and modernization programs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in architecture governance boards and executive steering committees.
