ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a Senior / Staff Behavioral Engineer to make safe behavior the path of least resistance at Suno. Instead of only catching abuse after it happens, you'll work upstream. You'll study how bad actors exploit our product and where well-intentioned employees fall into risky shortcuts. Then you'll redesign the flows, defaults, friction points, and incentives underneath so that harmful behavior is structurally harder to carry out. Working at the intersection of behavioral science, product design, and security and trust & safety, you'll partner closely with Product and Engineering to build risk-reducing changes directly into their roadmaps. This work will help lay the foundation for Suno's security programs and strengthen our overall risk posture across security, trust & safety, fraud, and privacy.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Investigate how abuse and risk actually happen on our platform and inside the company. That includes reading logs, interviewing support and ops teams, and reconstructing user and employee journeys to find the easy paths to harm.

• Design concrete changes to signup flows, permission defaults, rate limits, approval steps, and verification gates, working alongside PMs and designers.

• Get your recommendations onto other teams' roadmaps by making the case in planning meetings, writing proposals, and negotiating trade-offs, all without owning the roadmap yourself.

• Measure changes in real behavior, not just detection rates. You'll define success metrics before a change ships and run before/after comparisons to prove impact.

• Lead cross-functional root-cause reviews after incidents and near-misses by asking what about the design made risky behavior the easy option, then turning the answers into concrete backlog items.

• Stay ahead of new attack patterns by tracking industry incidents and behavioral science research. You'll design targeted awareness and training only where it's the best lever, and make sure people actually find it useful.

• Help make safe, trustworthy experiences part of how Suno builds every product, in service of making creative fulfillment a daily reality for everyone.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

MUST-HAVES

• 6+ years of experience in trust & safety, security, fraud, anti-abuse, or risk-focused product work, with the technical fluency to dig into logs and data yourself and to work credibly with engineers on implementation.

• A track record of reducing risky behavior through product and process design (flows, defaults, friction, incentives), with measurable before/after results.

• Strong influence skills, including a history of getting changes prioritized on roadmaps you didn't own by building trust with Product, Engineering, and Design partners.

NICE-TO-HAVES

• Formal background in behavioral science, behavioral economics, human factors, or UX research.

• Experience at a consumer tech company at scale, especially one with user-generated content, creator platforms, or payments.

• Experience supporting security compliance programs (e.g. SOC 2), or being an early or founding hire in a trust, safety, or security function.
