QA Analyst / Quality Assurance Engineer

The Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications through systematic testing and validation processes. The QA professional works closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to identify defects, improve system functionality, and ensure deliverables meet business and technical requirements. Using established QA methodologies, the QA Analyst designs, executes, and documents test plans to support high-quality software releases.

Test Planning & Execution: Develops, reviews, and executes test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on functional and non-functional requirements. Ensures comprehensive test coverage across applications.

Defect Management: Identifies, documents, tracks, and validates defects using defect-tracking tools. Collaborates with development teams to resolve issues in a timely manner.

Quality Analysis: Evaluates software quality by performing manual and/or automated testing, including regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing.

Process Improvement: Participates in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance QA processes, testing strategies, and overall product quality.

Collaboration: Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and business analysts to ensure requirements are clearly understood and testable.

Documentation & Reporting: Maintains accurate QA documentation, test results, and status reports. Communicates testing progress, risks, and quality metrics to stakeholders.

Compliance & Standards: Ensures applications comply with organizational standards, industry best practices, and security requirements.

Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, testing life cycles, and best practices

Experience with manual testing and familiarity with test automation tools

Knowledge of defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, ALM)

Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum frameworks

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Proficiency with general computer applications including Microsoft Office, documentation tools, and reporting systems

Attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality results

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred)

Relevant QA or software testing certifications are a plus
