Structural Design Engineer

Seeking a Structural Design Engineer to support the analysis, design, and documentation of structural building projects. The role involves designing structural systems for a variety of commercial building types, preparing engineering calculations and construction documents, supporting construction administration activities, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to BIM modeling efforts. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career structural engineer looking to grow within a collaborative engineering environment.

Job Roles and Responsibilities

Perform structural engineering analysis and design for building projects.
Design steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and wood structural systems.
Prepare engineering calculations, reports, specifications, and technical documentation.
Develop and review structural drawings and analytical models.
Assist with construction administration activities.
Review shop drawings and contractor submittals.
Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs).
Conduct field observations, inspections, and structural investigations when required.
Attend coordination meetings with clients, architects, and project teams.
Support Building Information Modeling (BIM) production using Revit.
Collaborate with senior engineers and other design professionals throughout project delivery.
Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes and engineering standards.

Qualifications and Certifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering preferred.
0-3 years of structural engineering experience.
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred.
Knowledge of structural building design principles.

Familiarity with building codes and standards including:

IBC
ASCE
AISC
ACI

Experience with structural engineering software including:

RAM Structural System
ETABS
ADAPT
SAFE
Revit
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
