Job Title Sales Engineer, Midwest Overview The Sales Engineer will work with the sales team and partners on pre‑sales solutions and technical issues, advising, implementing, educating, and designing solutions based on Axis hardware and software. The role focuses on providing field and design services across the entire portfolio of Axis products. What You’ll Do Act as a subject‑matter expert for design tasks and maintain/update AEC equipment and network. Support Axis‑based solutions primarily in a pre‑sales capacity. Manage pre‑sales research, site design, integration questions, and proof‑of‑concept work. Assist with virtual sales calls, partner trainings, and walkthroughs. Advise and make recommendations involving Axis hardware and software platforms. Provide design training, system design, and best practices for Axis Sales organization, channel partners, program partners, and end customers as required. Analyze technical support cases for trends, outstanding issues, and potential problems; engage the sales team as needed. Follow up and manage escalated technical support tickets. Educate and disseminate information on best practices internally and externally. Research and identify ways to improve services and offerings for Axis partners. Qualifications Extensive system design and integration experience (site surveys, camera placement, network design, bandwidth/storage calculations, pixels on target, application drawings in Visio or CAD). Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, routers, switches, VPNs). Extensive knowledge of image quality, video transport protocols, and compression technologies. Strong sales mentality and customer‑relationship skills. Proven ability to work in cross‑functional teams and business units. Positive, customer‑centric attitude. Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills. Bachelor’s degree or post‑secondary diploma in information technology, networking, computer science, or security and information risk management. 3+ years of industry experience in customer‑facing roles related to systems design, engineering, project management, integration, and/or development. Physical Demands The role requires occasional lifting of 20–40 lbs., climbing or standing on ladders or lifts for extended periods, working at heights, and accessing ceilings, ladders, or rooftops. An occasional vehicle is needed for site visits and meetings outside the office, with expected travel up to 15%. Salary & Benefits Target Salary: $90,000 – $100,000 OTE.
