American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position requiring prior travel nursing experience and EKG proficiency.

ICU setting caring for inpatient Med/Surg/Telemetry admissions

12-hour night shift, start time 19:00

Every other weekend required

Holiday coverage required as needed (1-2 holidays during contract)

First to float to other Med/Surg/Tele units

No on-call requirements

Uses Epic EMR

Active IL RN license required

Current BLS certification (American Heart or American Red Cross only)

Current NIHSS certification

Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg/Tele/Neuro experience required

Prior travel nursing experience required with at least 1 completed travel assignment

Epic EMR experience required

Must pass a Relias EKG test with a score of 80% or higher prior to submission

Must pass an on-site EKG test on Day 1 of orientation

Date of birth required for consideration

2 professional references required, with 1 from most recent travel assignment

Provide nursing care to inpatient Med/Surg/Telemetry patients in an ICU setting

A brief onsite interview (10-15 minutes) will be conducted by the hospital

New graduates will not be accepted for this position

First-time travelers are not accepted for this position

Local candidates accepted at the same rate within a 50-mile radius

Returning permanent or per diem staff must be away for 12 months before being considered as a traveler

RTO limited to a maximum of 3 days for 8-week contracts and 7 days for 13-week contracts

A study book for the on-site EKG test will be provided prior to start
