Job Description: Industry: Healthcare / Health Services - Nursing / LPNs / LVNs Job Category: Medical / Health - Nurse Leadership Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Sunnyvale is seeking a Nursing Director to provide leadership to Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Cardiac Specialty Unit (CSU), and Dialysis. The Director of is accountable for the clinical, operational, and fiscal performance of the designated unit. This position oversees the execution of short and long term strategies to support organizational goals pertinent to the Baylor Scott & White- Sunnyvale campus, establishes and ensures compliance with standards of clinical care, and maintains accountability for staffing, quality, safety, service and clinical excellence throughout these areas. Other responsibilities include assisting Clinical Managers/supervisors with Evidence Based Leadership, supporting nursing professional practice, and responding to any patient or physician's complaints in an administrative leadership role. - Typically provides leadership to managers and /or frontline level professional staff

- Coach leadership team on utilization/resource management
- Vendor representative relations as appropriate.
- Mentoring/skill coaching for Pl, budget, personnel management, change initiatives, etc. for team
- Participation in educational development and professional organization for self/encouragement of staff participation
- Oversight of staff educational programs
- Encouragement of evidence based research/practice
- Shared governance/Evidence Based Leadership communication
- Workgroup facilitation/collaboration to meet unit goals
- Performance appraisals of direct reports
- Staff/leadership team human resource management
- Staff relations
- Develop strategy/vision for unit initiatives; and perform other duties and special projects as required.

- Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing with three (3) years or more years' experience in all aspects of critical care nursing.
- Current RN license within the state of practice
- Successful completion of critical care course
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS Certification
- CPI certification within six months of hire
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Additional language preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge.
