Bilingual Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator

The Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator is responsible for the Safety Health and Environmental policies procedures and operations at the plant. Also responsible for training systems across all plant functional areas. Ensures the plant is in full compliance with all corporate city county state and federal government Safety Health and Environmental laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

1. Follow all safety environmental rules and regulations applicable to position. 
2. Adhere to and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP requirements.
3. Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety environmental food safety GMP rules regulations and policies.
4. Collaborate with management to interpret implement and ensure adherence to local state and federal laws/regulations with a deep understanding of their impact in a manufacturing environment.
5. Prepare and submit all required local state and federal environmental reports to ensure continuous plant compliance.
6. Ensures all incidents are reported to the required departments/agencies and all documents are maintained.
7. Oversees the installation maintenance and inspection of all security and fire protection systems and effective hazard control strategies and programs.
8. Assist in conducting industrial hygiene assessments to monitor and maintain a safe working environment.
9. Actively participate as a key member of the plants Safety Committee contributing to safety initiatives and improvements.
10. Manage workers compensation claims and ensure adherence to relevant policies in partnership with Human Resources.
11. Conduct thorough investigations of safety-related incidents and injuries identifying trends areas for improvement and working closely with management to determine root causes and corrective actions.
12. Review new or modified equipment and processes to assess and mitigate potential health safety and environmental risks.
13. Develop implement and maintain comprehensive safety and environmental policies that align with plant objectives and regulatory standards.
14. Assist with regulatory and company compliance of all Total Process Safety covered processes.
15. Facilitate new hire and temporary worker safety training and orientation to ensure employees are equipped with the knowledge to work safely.
16. Provide weekly toolbox talks and training sessions to promote safety awareness and ongoing education.
17. Provide safety orientation for contractors to ensure they meet company safety standards while on-site.
18. Administer monthly safety training sessions ensuring all employees are up-to-date with required safety procedures and protocols.
19. Implement audit systems that focus on holding teams accountable for safety standards and taking corrective actions where necessary.
20. Implements programs to improve plant safety performance in order to meet plant goals.
21. Prepare and submit detailed monthly EHS reports summarizing key safety statistics training activities and areas requiring attention.
22. Additional duties as required by the EH&S Manager and Plant Manager.
23. Facilitate completion of recurring tasks and action items.
24. Assist with required renewals of applicable permits and applications environmental or other.
25. Assist with completion of annual/monthly/ weekly environmental inspection including SPCC and SWPPP inspections
26. Submit required reporting documentation to applicable regulatory agencies as needed
27. Help facilitate  waste disposal.
28.  Ensure compliance of all stormwater and waste water requirements as needed.
29. Participate in and facilitate corrective actions for audits performed at the site.
30. Maintain all EHS related documentation as appropriate. 

Qualifications :

Education:  High School diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree preferred.

Related Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience is required preferably in a manufacturing -depth knowledge safety environmental food safety GMP rules regulations and policies.

Skills : Proficiency in MS Word Excel and Power Point; Proficient in navigating OSHA EPA and other key HSE regulations/web sites.

Additional Information :

Physical:  Must be able to sit up to 4hrs using a computer. Walking and standing up to 4 hrs. to conduct Plant walk through inspections and audits. Periodic lifting and climbing. Not over 40 lbs.

Sensory:  Good Listening Skills; Speaking to vendors and at meetings. Visual for looking at samples finished product and defective issues. Must have the appropriate level of sensory acuity (visual hearing speaking smell and touch) to be able to identify and react to normal abnormal and alarm conditions (chemical temperature etc.)

Mental/Reasoning : Reading and writing skills are very important. Must be able to interact with a variety of people. Reasoning and good judgment. Must be able to logically and methodically work through and break down complex problems and processes to enable effective communication with all levels of the organization. Problem analyzing and correct reaction. 

Language : Bilingual English Spanish is required

Salary range : $80113 - $107510

Annual Bonus Incentive : 5%
