Systems Engineer (Part-Time)

The Integrated Warfare Systems Group (IWSG) includes more than 130 personnel focused on program and project management, acquisition, systems and digital engineering, software development, test and evaluation, sustainment, cybersecurity, international/Foreign Military Sales, strategic communications, and IT services. IWSG supports more than 100 Navy programs within the Portfolio Acquisition Executive for Mission Systems and other Naval facilities. Responsibilities We are seeking a part‑time radar systems engineer to support a fast‑paced radar program within the Navy's Portfolio Acquisition Executive for Mission Systems. Candidate will support a variety of tasks including: Support and completion of major technical reviews. Produce required acquisition documentation. Meet critical program milestone deadlines. Manage program needs and external requirements. Ensure the right resources are provided to the right priorities at the right time. Lead and act on behalf of the program's Working Group Leads ensuring the appropriate Systems Engineering processes and discipline is applied across the program. Support technical interchanges and working groups by providing technical expertise in radar and/or combat systems integration. Conduct technical studies and develop systems engineering documentation as directed by program leadership. A hybrid work environment is acceptable; however the candidate must be able to work primarily from NSWC Dahlgren. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in STEM. 12+ years of experience in DoD systems engineering. Proven experience with Navy's surface radar, and/or combat systems design and certification processes. DoD Secret clearance and the ability to maintain it throughout employment. Desired Qualifications: 15+ years of relevant work experience, particularly in the area of DoD engineering, including experience as a radar Chief Engineer or Technical Warrant holder.
