RN Operating Room Circulator

The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room (OR) is responsible for circulating cases, assisting with turnover cleaning, transporting patients, and scheduling cases across a variety of surgical specialties including General, Orthopedic, Vascular, Ophthalmic, Urology, ENT, Endoscopy, Robotic, Obstetrics, and Gynecology. This role requires strong clinical skills, the ability to work efficiently in a busy surgical environment, and collaboration with the surgical team. The nurse will also utilize systems such as EPIC, Pyxis, and Provation to support patient care and procedural documentation. A minimum of 2 to 3 years of hospital circulating experience is required, with preferred ability to scrub cases. Responsibilities:

• Circulate surgical cases independently across multiple specialties.
• Assist with turnover cleaning between cases to maintain OR readiness.
• Transport patients to and from the operating room as needed.
• Schedule surgical cases and coordinate with surgical teams.
• Utilize EPIC, Pyxis, and Provation systems for documentation and medication management.
• Maintain compliance with OR protocols and safety standards.
• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other OR staff.
• Provide support in a fast-paced, multi-room surgical environment.

• Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Hawaii.
• Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience circulating cases in a hospital OR setting.
• BLS certification.
• Knowledge of surgical procedures across General, Orthopedic, Vascular, Ophthalmic, Urology, ENT, Endoscopy, Robotic, Obstetrics, and Gynecology specialties.
• Ability to work with EPIC, Pyxis, and Provation software.
• Ability to respond to call backs within a 30-minute radius of the hospital.

• Ability to scrub surgical cases.
• Experience with robotic surgical procedures.
• Previous experience in a busy, multi-room OR environment.

• Must be available for on-call coverage 24/7, averaging 1-2 times per week plus up to 2 weekends per month.
• Must reside within a 30-minute radius of the hospital for timely call back.
• Scrubs are provided by the facility.
• Traveler nurses must complete a minimum of 39 shifts during the contract duration if requested time off is approved.
• Orientation will be on day shift for up to one week or as directed by management.

• Variable shifts Monday through Friday between 06:45 and 23:15 based on department needs.
• Travelers scheduled for 40 hours per week, with possibility of 32 hours during holidays.
• Operating room runs 4 to 6 rooms simultaneously daily, including 6 OR suites plus one dedicated to C-sections.
