Assignments include, but are not limited to, EKG/ECG monitoring, non-invasive BP monitoring, and clerical duties when appropriate. Utilizes effective and appropriate communication styles. Assists in maintaining a safe work environment and maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the population of patients served. Focuses on excellent outcomes and patient experience.Job DutiesSupervises cardiac rehab sessions, monitors EKG, updates exercise prescription and documents patient response to exercise.Assesses learning needs, readiness to learn and actual or potential barriers to learning and integrates primary and secondary diagnosis into patient educational plan.Documents assessment/reassessment in patient care plan, including interventions and outcomes, goal setting, behavior changes, etc.Maintains ongoing communication with physicians and/or care team, as appropriate.Demonstrates commitment to quality and safety, in accordance with established policies and procedures, utilizing evidence-based practice. Participates in evidence-based practice and research/performance improvement projects as applicable.Uses effective and appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication styles with patients, families, visitors, staff, and professional colleagues.Functions as a team member to support department and hospital goals and objectives. Participates in all phases of the performance improvement process, including organizational and unit-based patient experience goals.Performs validated technical skills based upon clinical specialty and unit practice.Demonstrates leadership and team building skills including: - Teaching and mentoring new colleagues and department interns. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking.
