Remote | IT Manager (Information Systems & Technology Operations) — $60–$100/hour We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced IT and information systems managers with strong expertise in enterprise technology operations, information systems, technical team leadership, system planning, and IT service delivery. This role focuses on reviewing IT management content and workflows across realistic enterprise technology scenarios. Selected professionals will assess project plans, technical standards, incident responses, vendor-management decisions, and technology operations materials for technical accuracy, operational soundness, and cross-team feasibility. Key Responsibilities IT & Information Systems Management Evaluate IT management plans, workflows, and professional work products for quality and accuracy Assess whether proposed approaches reflect realistic enterprise technology environments Review information systems priorities, technical operations, and management decisions Identify operational gaps, unsupported assumptions, and impractical recommendations Apply professional judgement grounded in real-world IT management experience Review IT project plans, technology roadmaps, and system priorities Assess whether objectives, dependencies, resources, and implementation considerations are appropriately addressed Evaluate trade-offs between competing technology initiatives Identify unrealistic timelines, resource assumptions, or technical dependencies Review recommendations for operational and technical feasibility Technical Standards & Governance Evaluate technical standards, policies, and technology-management procedures Assess whether standards are clear, internally consistent, and practical to implement Review alignment across systems, applications, infrastructure, and technical teams Identify gaps in ownership, documentation, or governance Evaluate recommendations for improving consistency and operational control Review incident-response scenarios and IT service-management workflows Assess prioritisation, escalation, ownership, and technical-response decisions Evaluate whether proposed actions appropriately address service impact and operational risk Identify gaps in coordination, communication, or recovery planning Review incident-management recommendations for technical and operational soundness Technical Team Coordination Evaluate scenarios involving assignment and coordination of technical teams Review responsibilities across information systems, systems analysis, software development, and related functions Assess whether staffing and ownership decisions align with technical requirements Identify coordination gaps, unclear responsibilities, or resource constraints Evaluate cross-team feasibility of proposed technology initiatives Review scenarios involving external technology vendors and service providers Assess vendor coordination, responsibilities, dependencies, and delivery considerations Evaluate whether vendor-related recommendations appropriately support business and technical requirements Identify gaps in oversight, escalation, or service coordination Review technology sourcing and vendor-management decisions for operational practicality Systems & Application Operations Evaluate materials involving enterprise applications, information systems, data-processing environments, and software operations Assess whether proposed approaches appropriately address system dependencies and operational requirements Review technical support and application-management scenarios Identify risks affecting availability, maintainability, or service delivery Evaluate recommendations for improving technology operations Comparative IT Management Evaluation Compare alternative IT management responses or approaches Assess outputs based on operational soundness, technical rigour, and cross-team feasibility Identify meaningful differences between stronger and weaker solutions Determine whether recommendations are technically and operationally defensible Provide clear reasoning supporting evaluation decisions Structured Evaluation & Feedback Review IT management work products for accuracy and professional quality Identify substantive technical, operational, organisational, and planning weaknesses Distinguish material technology-management issues from minor presentation concerns Provide concise, evidence-based written feedback Apply evaluation standards consistently across assignments Ideal Profile 4+ years of relevant professional experience in IT management, information systems management, technical services, application development management, or a closely related field Experience as an IT Manager, Information Systems Manager, IT Director, Application Development Director, Technical Services Manager , or similar technology-management professional Demonstrated experience directing or coordinating activities across electronic data processing, information systems, systems analysis, or computer programming teams Strong practical understanding of enterprise technology operations and technical team management Experience with system prioritisation, technical standards, incident management, vendor coordination, and IT service delivery Ability to evaluate technology-management recommendations for technical and operational feasibility Ability to work independently and provide precise professional feedback Fully remote Availability of 20+ hours per week Immediate start Initial project duration of approximately 4–6 weeks Compensation: $60–$100/hour for hourly project work The initial assignment is task-based;
