Supply Chain Planning Specialist / Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist Location: Palmdale, CA or Melbourne, FL Schedule: 9/80 work schedule – every other Friday OFF; no telework available Organization: Global Supply Chain Clearance: Secret clearance required (ability to obtain and maintain) Travel: Yes, 10% of the time Relocation assistance: No relocation assistance available Responsibilities Define and develop material strategies to support program and production needs. Assess supply chain resources; aggregate and prioritize demand requirements. Develop, coordinate, and execute material forecasts and delivery schedules. Participate in make/buy decisions, long‑term capacity and resource planning, product phase‑in/phase‑out, manufacturing ramp‑up, end‑of‑life and product‑line management. Lead affordability, cost‑savings, and/or process improvement initiatives. Collaborate with Program Management, Manufacturing, Procurement, Engineering, and Quality to resolve issues and meet manufacturing and test schedules. Analyze purchase material supply/demand positions using MRP tools. Analyze lead times and identify critical‑path procurements. Work with suppliers to ensure on‑time delivery at required quality levels for critical components. Prioritize and communicate impacts of current and potential material shortages. Basic Qualifications (Level 2) Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related experience in Goods Movement, Subcontracts, Purchasing, Contracts, Finance, Logistics, Planning, or Project Management, or a Master’s Degree with 0 years experience – OR – 6 years of related work experience in lieu of a degree. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance. Ability to obtain special program access. Bachelor’s degree with 5 years combined experience in Goods Movement, Subcontracts, Purchasing, Contracts, Finance, Logistics, Planning, or Project Management – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years combined experience in the same areas – OR – An additional 9 years of related work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP/MRP systems and experience working with and analyzing large data sets. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Preferred Qualifications Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Experience with supplier management. Demonstrated communication skills with the ability to present information in an organized, effective manner. Advanced knowledge of SAP or similar ERP/MRP systems and complex data analysis. Secondary Level: $81,400 – $141,200. Salary offers may vary based on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Additional compensation may include overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and long‑term incentives for certain positions.
