Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Springfield, Illinois. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: OR - Operating Room Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/14/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary: Operating Room (OR) Nurse in a Level I trauma center located in an acute care hospital. This 13-26 week travel assignment offers nights shifts with a schedule of 5x8 hours per night. The role involves working with all service lines except cardiac surgery, and requires general OR and trauma experience, as well as proficiency in handling laparoscopic, neuro, orthopedic, plastic, transplant, and urology cases. Candidates must be flexible to on-call duties and possess the necessary certifications. Job Details: Schedule: Night shifts, 5x8 hours per night (22:45-07:15), with a minimum of 40 hours per week Required Qualifications: Minimum 2.5 years' experience in the operating room, active Illinois license (or in application), BLS certification. Open to candidates with trauma experience and general OR skills. Level I trauma experience and Cerner charting system familiarity preferred. Preferred Qualifications: CNOR certification preferred. Float: Float rotation may be required; will work within skill set, though rarely necessary. Additional Information: The assignment involves working with all service lines except cardiovascular, requiring expertise in various surgical procedures including laparoscopic, neuro, orthopedic, plastic, transplant, and urology cases. On-call duties are part of the schedule, with one weekend per month coverage. The facility is an acute care hospital with 562 beds, Level I trauma designation, and a variety of interdisciplinary support services. Certifications: BLS required; additional certifications related to specific case types (e.g., CNOR, CST) are highly preferred. Start Date: 09/14/2026 End Date: 12/14/2026 RTO Restrictions: All time off requests must be reviewed and approved by management. Other Requirements: Candidates must have 50 miles residence from the facility, active Illinois license or in process, and must complete mandatory modules prior to start.
