Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Southeastern U.S. region as a Certified Medical Assistant, supporting both administrative and clinical needs of licensed medical professionals. This role involves assisting with patient vital signs, updating medical records, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain patient confidentiality, dignity, and well-being throughout care delivery.
• Accurately document patient interactions and clinical data for each visit and telephone contact.
• Collect and process point-of-care, laboratory, and pathology specimens following established protocols.
• Perform quality and safety checks on waived testing equipment and supplies.
• Provide patient education under provider guidance.
• Administer treatments, dressing changes, medications, and therapies as ordered by licensed providers.
• Assist providers during procedures and examinations, including setup and chaperoning.
• Prepare reusable instruments for sterilization and manage biohazard and pharmaceutical waste according to OSHA standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe patient care environment by adhering to infection prevention protocols.
• Support front desk operations including greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and assisting with coding and billing tasks.
• Coordinate with external healthcare partners to facilitate patient care plans.
• Monitor electronic health record communications and respond promptly.
• Perform components of well visits and scheduled nursing visits as directed.
• Float to other clinics as needed to support patient care.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program with successful completion of a nationally recognized certification exam (e.g., CMA, RMA, CCMA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
• Preferred: Minimum of one year clinical experience in an outpatient setting.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to recognize and respond to life-threatening situations and activate emergency services.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and providers both in person and via phone.
• Physical ability to perform clinical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
• Comfort with potential exposure to blood and other infectious materials.
