Construction Inspector

Construction Inspector – U.S. Coast Guard Airfield Project Ozell Services is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to support a major U.S. Coast Guard runway recapitalization project at USCG Base Elizabeth City, North Carolina. The selected Construction Inspector will provide full-time onsite oversight of a large-scale airfield improvement project involving runway reconstruction, pavement replacement, drainage improvements, runway extension, lighting upgrades, signage installation, and associated infrastructure improvements. Responsibilities Conduct daily construction inspections and surveillance activities Monitor contractor compliance with plans, specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards Document construction progress through reports, photographs, and field observations Identify deficiencies and communicate findings to Government project representatives Attend project meetings and coordinate with contractors and stakeholders Support schedule monitoring and quality assurance efforts throughout construction Preferred Qualifications 10+ years of construction inspection, quality control, superintendent, or construction management experience Experience supporting federal construction projects (USACE, NAVFAC, FAA, Coast Guard, DoD, or similar) Airfield, runway, paving, civil/site, transportation, utility, or heavy infrastructure experience preferred Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Strong written communication and reporting skills Experience with construction management software and digital reporting tools preferred Project Information Overtime may be required based on project activities and construction schedules Candidates with runway, airport, transportation, paving, civil infrastructure, or federal construction inspection experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
