Sun River Health is currently seeking a full‑time Medical Assistant to join our team supporting the Church Avenue site in Brooklyn, NY. Position Summary A Medical Assistant helps patients and the clinical team at the designated health center in support of medical care as directed by the nursing and medical staff and pursuant to the objectives and policies of the Center. This position performs job duties in compliance with systems and job specific standards and additional jobs or duties assigned. Job Type: Full Time Pay Range: $20.50-$23.56 per hour Sign‑On Bonus: $1,500 Sign‑On Bonus for Eligible External Applicants – Terms and Conditions Apply. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Completes the rooming process and takes vital signs, vision, and/or hearing tests; records patient data in eCW (laboratory results, pain level, PEAS, PHQ, smoke status, etc.) and documents reason for visit. Performs in‑house labs, collects specimens for outside labs (e.g., Pap, cultures) and performs quality control in accordance with organizational protocols. Maintains the clinical area stocked and in good order; ensures all dated material is kept current and disposes of outdated supplies. Cleans and sterilizes all equipment and logs each time this service is performed. Performs basic clerical work; answers phones in an appropriate manner, communicates problems/concerns to nurses, and handles telephone inquiries. Ensures all appropriate logs are maintained.
