Team Manager - Machine Shop

These workers contribute to production machining of metallic or nonmetallic work pieces. You will apply knowledge of machine shop procedures, machine tool setup, operating techniques, and production machining methods. You will be a focal point of all machining operations within the plant and requires coordination of work with other department supervisors, engineering and management to ensure delivery of quality parts.You will report to the Maintenance Manager and be located at Blairsville, PA. You will support this role 100% onsite.Key Responsibilities:Manage organization, safety and maintenance of the machine shopReduce set up time and machining time through process improvementsEstablish working relationships with union leadership to insure a cooperative environment.Coordinate on-site contractors for craft training, repair of equipmentPlan and schedule for 3 shifts, and coordinate Machinist work with the Maintenance Planning Department and Maintenance TeamEnforce safety policies by conducting inspections and counseling your team as applicable.Organize training and provide appropriate documentation of training for experience in SAP_PM.Prepare Technical Documentation to include drawings, specifications, Spare parts list, and update the work-order status in CMMS.Support the written safety program that facilitates continuous improvement in the severity and frequency of accidents, resulting in no lost-time accidents and ensuring the safety of all employees.Individual must comply with all safety standards or rules set forth by the Company.Qualifications:High school diploma or recognized equivalent plus five or more years directly related experience supervising in a Machining manufacturing environment.Minimum 5 year experience with operation of 3 and 4 axis CNC Machines, tool set-up, editing and inspection in a production environmentMinimum 2-3 year experience managing schedules, workflow, safety, personnel and equipmentExperience with software applications such as Master CamExperience with planning, scheduling, estimating, requisitioning and reportingRead blueprints and technical drawingsCan work overtime which could include weekends and backshifts.Back-up to Maintenance supervisory personnel, covering time offWe are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices.
