It's an exciting time to join our business because Crown offers you the opportunity to grow and develop your skills in an expanding industry.Crown was founded with the goal of valuing and promoting sustainability and this vision continues to be essential to our long-term future.Job Description:Position Overview:This is a dual position:The forklift operator ensures the packaging, handling, and shipment of a quality product that meets or exceeds customer expectations.Location: Bradley, ILSalary: $25.51- $ 27.01 per hour – Forklift DriverBenefits: Crown offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits including free company paid health insurance for employees as well a free pension plan.Forklift Operator duties and responsibilities:Reporting directly to the Plant Shipping Supervisor, the Forklift Driver/Operators responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:Ensures all equipment, guards, and safety devices are in place at all times, and follows safe work procedures and safety rulesOperates sit-down propane forklift to transport inventory and load tractor trailers for shipment.Transports inventory in warehouse to correct locations and stages orders for shipment.Understands daily production schedule and corresponds with management, leads, and coworkers accordinglyPerforms visual inspection of aluminum cans and packaging qualityMonitors schedules, equipment, or processes, and reports problems to SupervisorFollows all SOP’s (standard operating procedures) and communicates with proper personnel as concerns or issues ariseAssist Quality Assurance in locating pallets for samplingPerforms other related duties as requiredThe above information reflects the general job duties and should not be construed as a detailed description of all work requirements.Job Requirements:Minimum 18 years oldHigh School diploma or G.E.D preferredEquivalent with 3+ years working on a sit-down forklift experience required.Working in a manufacturing setting (high-speed manufacturing is preferred).Must be able to withstand extreme climate changes especially during summer and winter months.Effective and proven communication skills (both written and verbal) working in a team environment.Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks at the same time.Effective record keeping skills and the ability to focus on detailsMust be able to stand for prolonged periods as well as work on elevated stationary platforms and withstand extreme climate changes especially during summer months.Demonstrated strong attention to detail, good record keeping, and precision abilities is highly desirable.Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, either nights from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., or days from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., weekends and overtime as business needs dictate.This position requires union membership after 30 days of hire.Preferred RequirementsOSHA/Forklift Trainer CertifiedBeverage Packaging industry experienceKnowledge of AS400Interested:Take the next step in your career and apply online today at .EEO/AA/Vets/DisabledAbout Crown:CROWN Cork & Seal USA, Inc., a wholly owned company of Crown Holdings, Inc. is a global leader in the design, manufacture and sale of packaging products for consumer goods.
