Assistant Teacher / ESE Support Teacher / Paraprofessional

Job Description

The ideal candidate for this role will be energetic and dynamic with a love for nurturing and educating children with special needs.

Fireflies Academy is a private school for children with neuro-diversities, autism, & related diagnoses. We are a unique school with a proprietary curriculum combining education, movement, and the arts. Our class sizes are small to ensure success of every student. The Assistant Teacher will support the Lead Teacher in the following:

Lesson planning and implementation
Maintaining a safe, clean, and nurturing environment where children can thrive
Providing a well-organized and smoothly functioning environment
Communicate regularly with parents, sharing their children’s latest adventures and achievements
Guiding the students to their potential of independence
Preparing daily correspondence for parents
Completing quarterly progress reports
