Key Responsibilities of the Certified Surgical Technician

• Prepare patient skin for surgery following hospital standards
• Maintain aseptic techniques and monitor for potential breaches
• Provide comfort and support for pre-operative patients
• Transport patients to and from the Operating Room suite
• Prepare the Operating Room with necessary equipment
• Establish and maintain the sterile field during surgery
• Assist the surgical team with instruments and supplies
• Adhere to Universal Barrier Precautions

Requirements of the Certified Surgical Technician

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of a Surgical Technology or accredited LVN/LPN program required
• 2 or more years of experience preferred
• BLS via AHA certification required
• Certified Surgical Technologist or LVN/LPN License required
