Job Description

Requirements:

Active RN license in state of practice (or compact license as applicable)
BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
BLS certification required
CWCN or WOCN (Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurse) certification preferred
1+ years of wound care experience required
Experience with wound assessment, debridement, and advanced wound care modalities

Duties:

Assess, treat, and manage patients with acute and chronic wounds, including pressure injuries, surgical wounds, and diabetic ulcers
Perform wound care procedures, including dressing changes, debridement, and application of advanced wound therapies (NPWT, etc.)
Develop and implement individualized wound care treatment plans based on wound type and patient condition
Educate patients and families on wound care, prevention strategies, and home care instructions
Collaborate with physicians, wound care specialists, and interdisciplinary team on plan of care
Monitor wound healing progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
Provide ostomy care and education as applicable
Accurately document wound assessments, treatments, and healing progress in the EMR
Ensure infection control and safety protocols are followed during wound care procedures
Educate nursing staff facility-wide on wound prevention and best practices (as applicableable)
