Interim Commercial Attorney – Construction Major, Lindsey & Africa is seeking a seasoned attorney to support our client, a global leader in technical professional services, on a part‑time interim basis (could expand). This role is ideal for a legal professional with deep experience in construction management contracts, particularly within the heavy industrial sector. Position Title: Interim Commercial Attorney – Construction Company: Leading American international technical professional services firm based in Dallas, TX. Location: Remote Key Responsibilities Review, draft, and negotiate complex construction management agreements Provide legal counsel on contracts involving primary contractors and subcontractors Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align contract terms with business objectives Mark up and revise contract language to mitigate risk and ensure compliance Advise on legal issues related to project delivery, liability, indemnity, and performance obligations Support ongoing contract negotiations and project execution Qualifications J.D. from an accredited law school; active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction 5–10+ years of experience in construction law, with a focus on management contracts for heavy industry projects Demonstrated expertise in contracts involving layered contractor relationships (prime/subcontractor structures) Strong negotiation and drafting skills, with a pragmatic approach to risk and business needs Comfortable working independently and interfacing with technical and operational teams Flexible availability for part‑time hours, with potential to scale up to full‑time as needed Remote work capability; preference for candidates located in Central or Eastern U.S. time zones Pay rate: $90 Information regarding benefits can be found on MLA’s Website on the Consultant Resources Page: All interested and qualified candidates should apply directly with Major, Lindsey & Africa for review and consideration.
