Machinist

MachinistWe are looking for a Manual Machinist to join our team. In this position, you will help repair and manufacture certain machine components using a variety of equipment, such as a lathe, milling machine, drill press, micrometer, and grinding machines. Our ideal candidate has completed a training program through an industry apprenticeship or earned a machinist certificate from a vocational school and has at least one year of manufacturing experience. Prior roles as a lathe operator or in another manual machining position is a plus.Major Responsibilities:Read blueprints to determine what equipment and materials are necessary for the jobRepair and manufacture certain machine components using a variety of equipment, such as a lathe, milling machine, drill press, micrometer, and grinding machinesFollow the blueprints to create the appropriate tools and componentsOperate machines to grind, cut, and polish the materialsFinish projects using manual toolsInspect and maintain equipment to ensure they remain in good working orderEducation:Required: High School DiplomaPreferred: apprenticeship or machine certificate from a vocational schoolExperience:Preferred: 1 year prior manufacturing experienceSkills:Machinist vocational certificate or completed industry apprenticeshipManual dexterityLathe machining experienceMilling machine experienceSurface grinder experienceBlueprinting reading skillsPrior roles as a lathe operator or in another manual machining position is a plusProficient with measuring toolsSalary $28.14-32.41 per hour8 hour day shift Monday through Friday
