Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Surgical Services Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgical Services Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evenings Hours per Shift: 4x10s: Mon - Thurs 1:00 PM - 11:00 PM OR 5x8s: Mon - Fri 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Negotiable) Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license Certifications: Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Must-Have: Must be interested in working with people with short-term or long-term disabilities that begin in childhood. Physically able to work hours required and meet physical demands of the position. In certain departments, this will include being part of the off-premise call schedule. Description: This position exists to administer family-centered nursing care to patients. The role includes advising patients on health maintenance and disease prevention. Skilled assistance in navigating the health care system is provided as appropriate to the developmental, cultural, emotional, and medical, surgical, or rehabilitative needs of the patient and their families. Specific duties are determined by the work setting or patient population served. Serving patients with challenging and complex conditions requires a concentration of specialized staff. This role requires the ability to work in highly coordinated teams. Care is organized around each patient's condition. Staff across many departments must exhibit exceptional teamwork qualities. Effective communication is essential for high functioning integrated teams. Preferred Skills & Experience: Prior nursing experience in a health-related setting is preferred. Preferred education includes a bachelor’s degree in nursing or another healthcare-related field. Nursing specialty certification relevant to the position is preferred. Pediatric experience is preferred.
