You will primarily be responsible for reviewing, redlining, drafting, and negotiating contracts for the Q2 sales team as well as interacting directly with customers and prospects daily. You will report to the Senior Director of Contract Operations, joining a welcoming and collaborative Legal Team. With your strong communication skills and top-notch work ethic, you will be a key part of the team. RESPONSIBILITIESReview proposed transactions with prospective and existing customer financial institutions, identify contract risks and restrictions, and recommend creative, practical solutions that address customer concerns while protecting Q2’s interests.Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of customer agreements, including SaaS subscription, software licensing, support services, consulting services, and nondisclosure agreements. Partner with various groups within Q2 to understand key IT, security, IP, compliance, and finance requirements, and ensure commercial contract terms comply with corporate directives, policies, and procedures. Interact with Chief Compliance Officer to keep abreast of applicable laws, regulations and industry guidance that impact operations and subscription and license agreements.Collaborate and partner effectively with the business, including providing advice and counsel to executives and sales professionals on issues related to subscription and licensing transactions.Support day-to-day sales activities, including training and coaching sales professionals and coordinating with other groups within the Q2 Legal Department on compliance matters. Assist with legal department projects as assigned.Responsible for ensuring that all security, availability, confidentiality and privacy policies and controls are adhered to.EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGETypically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of related contract management or commercial transactional experience; or an advanced degree with 6+ years of experience; or equivalent related work experience.In-house legal experience is preferred.High volume commercial transactions experience with a SaaS company of similar size and scale to Q2, including experience with subscription and licensing sales agreements.An excellent negotiator with strong influencing skills experienced at drafting commercial contracts.Demonstrated capability in creating and negotiating complex transactions in addition to typical sales agreements.Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while staying focused on the task at hand.A practical, proactive problem-solver with strong business acumen who stays confident, mature, and calm under pressure.Excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, and leadership skills.Must be able to work effectively both independently and with a team with the highest degree of personal and professional integrity and ethics.This position requires fluent written and oral communication in English.Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.Health & WellnessHybrid Work OpportunitiesFlexible Time Off Career Development & Mentoring Programs Health & Wellness Benefits, including competitive health insurance offerings and generous paid parental leave for eligible new parents Community Volunteering & Company Philanthropy Programs Employee Peer Recognition Programs – “You Earned it”Click here to find out more about the benefits we offer.Our Culture & Commitment:We’re proud to foster a supportive, inclusive environment where career growth, collaboration, and wellness are prioritized.
