This is an excellent opportunity for a doctor who enjoys variety in their day—including urgent cases, wellness visits, sick appointments, and surgery—while maintaining a predictable schedule and strong work-life balance . The position combines scheduled appointments with walk-in urgent care cases, creating a dynamic and engaging environment while ensuring patients receive timely, high-quality care. The Role This role focuses on urgent care, wellness visits, and sick appointments, with opportunities to perform surgery when appropriate. The hospital provides care for non-life-threatening urgent cases and works closely with local primary veterinarians to ensure continuity of care. Responsibilities Managing walk-in urgent care cases throughout the day Supporting wellness visits and overflow appointments from other doctors as needed Performing urgent surgeries when appropriate (e.g., wound repairs, mass removals, stable pyometra cases, GI foreign bodies) Performing routine soft tissue surgeries Collaborating closely with other veterinarians and a skilled technical team Practicing high-quality medicine with appropriate diagnostics and treatment plans Experience & Skills Requirements Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent degree Eligible for or currently holding a Texas veterinary license in good standing prior to start date DEA license or eligibility to obtain one About the Hospital This modern small animal hospital provides both general practice and urgent care services to pets in the surrounding community.
