CNC Estimating Engineer

Location: Elk Grove Village, IL (Onsite) BrightPath Associates is seeking an experienced CNC Quoting Engineer to join a leading precision manufacturing organization in Elk Grove Village, IL . This role is ideal for a manufacturing professional with expertise in CNC machining, CAM software, and cost estimating who enjoys developing accurate, competitive quotations for complex precision-machined components. Key Responsibilities Review RFQs, engineering drawings, CAD models, and customer specifications. Develop detailed manufacturing cost estimates covering labor, machining, tooling, materials, inspection, and outside processing. Generate accurate cycle-time estimates using CAM software, machining expertise, ERP data, and historical manufacturing information. Create conceptual manufacturing plans including operation sequencing, tooling strategies, machine selection, and workholding concepts. Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) recommendations to improve manufacturability and reduce production costs. Support customer quote reviews, pricing strategies, and technical discussions. Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Production, and Supply Chain teams. Utilize ERP/MRP systems for estimating, costing, routing, labor standards, and manufacturing planning. Drive continuous improvement in estimating processes, quoting templates, and manufacturing data. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, CNC machining, estimating, or quotation engineering. Experience in precision machining or contract manufacturing environments. Strong understanding of 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC machining . Experience with TopSolid (preferred), Mastercam, SmartCAM, Esprit, NX , or similar CAM software. Strong knowledge of GD&T , blueprint interpretation, and CAD models. Experience with ERP/MRP systems for estimating, costing, routing, and manufacturing analysis. Excellent analytical, technical, and communication skills. U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required due to ITAR requirements. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Made2Manage ERP . Background supporting Aerospace, Defense, Industrial OEM, Transportation, Mining, or Energy industries. Knowledge of AS9100, ITAR, DFARS, and NADCAP . Experience with fixture design, tooling strategies, workholding optimization, or manufacturing automation. Why Join?
