- Position Type: Contract (Travel/Nursing)
- Contract Duration: 4 months
- Pay Rate: $61.00 / Hour (USD)
- Shift / Schedule: Nights, 18:45-07:15 (3×12); 13-20 week assignments accepted at 36 or 48 hours per week
- Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Perform interpretation and management of dysrhythmias using telemetry and remote monitoring
- Utilize Rapid Response/Code teams as clinically indicated
- Manage and care for patients with bowel obstruction, colostomy/ileostomy, and feeding tubes
- Perform Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management and care for patients with renal failure
- Administer blood products and manage central line blood draws
- Manage peripheral lines and PICC lines; start and maintain IVs
- Administer Heparin, Insulin (including IV insulin protocols), and PCA
- Manage chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac)
- Manage and maintain BiPAP/CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), nasal cannula, and oxygen tanks
- Perform non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, and oxygen administration
- Apply and maintain Isolation Precautions/PPE
- Perform Wound Care and Wound Vac management
- Document using Pyxis medication dispensing system
- Float to main campus (approximately 32 minutes away) as required
- Work every other weekend and all required holidays; no block schedules unless a weekend block
- Report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters as part of Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments

- Previous Charge Nurse experience
- Electronic Documentation experience
- Community Hospital experience
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) - Required
- Active RN License - Required
- Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty
- Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience - HARDSTOP requirement
- Night shift: 18:45-07:15 (3×12-hour shifts)
- 13-20 week assignments accepted at 36 or 48 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- Must be able to work holidays; no block schedules unless a weekend block
- RTO (Return to Origin): 7 days MAX per contract - HARDSTOP
- No call requirement
- Float requirement: Yes - traveler may be required to float to main campus approximately 32 minutes away
- Scheduling type: Self-scheduling
- Unit orientation: 24 hours
- Scrubs: Navy Blue or White
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- COVID-19: Not required
- Patient diagnoses on unit include but are not limited to: Diabetes, dementia, COVID, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, encephalopathy, GI bleed, anemia, hip fracture, CHF, UTI, various surgical recovery cases, renal failure, hypertension, cellulitis, failure to thrive
- Unit systems: Pyxis (Medication), Self-scheduling (Scheduling)
- Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team; contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster; consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur and contract staff may be pre-assigned to units as needed
- Must pass EKG Testing prior to start - required for this specialty
- HARDSTOP requirements: Minimum 2 years of RN experience; 7 days MAX RTO per contract; must be able to work holidays; no block schedules unless a weekend block
